Did you know stars have life cycles? Yep, kind of like butterflies and frogs, but a little different. First it starts in a nebula. Then it collects a lot of energy and dust and becomes a protostar. Then many many years past and then it is a main sequence star. After many more years pass, it will become a red giantstar or a super red giant star. Now it can take two different paths. The first one is if it’s a red giant star it will become a white dwarf and then a black dwarf. When it is a black dwarf the star is officially dead! If it becomes a super red giant star it will become a supernova. Then either a pulsar star, black hole, or recycle and become a nebula all over again.
This is a supernova! Supernovas happen when a super red giant star explodes in space!
This is a nebula. Nebulas are like star nurseries. Stars are born in nebulas.
Here's a black hole. Black holes are invisible. Nothing can escape a black hole. There is a massive black hole at the center of our galaxy!
