If we did not have the sun nothing could live on Earth. The sun provides food for the plants that we eat to stay alive and it would always be night forever. Without the sun Earth would be a ball of ice. The sun’s gravitational pull is what keeps Earth in orbit. When your part of Earth rotates on its axis and is facing away from the sun you are having night. When your part of Earth is facing the sun you are having day. The sun also causes seasons because Earth is tilted on it’s axis and orbits the sun having day. When the Earth is tilted toward the sun you are having summer. When it is kind of tilted toward the sun you are having spring. When your part of Earth is tilted away from the sun you are having winer. When Earth is kind of tilted away from the sun you are having fall. The sun is important to us because it helps us to live, causes the just right amount of day and night, and it causes the seasons.
